Debian und 3ware Controller...

Jetzt wollte ich grade ein Debian auf einem Kundenserver installieren, der mit einem 3ware SATA RAID Controller ausgestattet ist.

Und was macht das Debian? Es kotzt mir vor die Füße. Eigentlich interessant, weil die SuSE komischerweise sofort drauf lief.

Manchmal mag ich Linux. So richtig. Und ix86 Hardware. Find ich auch ganz toll. Wirklich.

    Wenn du deine Screenshot einmal eingehend beaeugst, wirst du feststellen, dass dort von 7xxx und 8xxx 3ware controllern die Rede ist. Falls du dort einen 9xxx hast: der Treiber nennt sich CONFIG_SCSI_3W_9XXX und ist lediglich in aktuellen 2.6er kernels enthalten, nicht jedoch in 2.4ern. Daher fehlt den ueblichen Debian Installationsmedien der Support fuer diese Hardware voellig.
